Just Like Family
From the first day we arrived at Wheaton Labs, we were welcomed with open arms and treated like family from the other “Boots” (Bootcamp attendees). They have game night on Thursdays and a community-wide Taco Tuesday which helped form a feeling of unity.
Building Community
Paul Wheaton, leader of the community and property owner of Wheaton Labs, has and continues to be willing to do whatever is necessary to make his dream community come to fruition. Paul has truly great ideas regarding permaculture and loves to share his knowledge with anyone willing to listen.
The online community Paul has built at permies.com is no exception. The forums there are alive and thriving with thousands of people who share a passion for permaculture and are ready to spread their knowledge and share their experiences. That website is a valuable resource for anyone interested in permaculture.
For those willing and able to continue the Bootcamp for two or more years, Paul will grant an acre of his property for you to develop and practice the skills and concepts you’ve learned through the program. In this way, Paul hopes to build a community of people with similar interests and passions that can live together in the beautiful, mountainous landscape of Montana.
